I am honored to serve as your OHSLA President for 2007-08.  This will be a busy year for OHSLA members and the Executive Committee as we continue fulfill mission of OHSLA. 

The ad hoc Hospital Librarians Advocacy Committee actively continues to work on the behalf of Ohio hospital librarians.  Specifically they are working with the Ohio State Medical Association (OSMA) Continuing Medical Education (CME) Committee to adopt the MLA standards for hospital libraries as a part of their accreditation process.   

The MidWest Chapter's Annual Meeting will be in Columbus, Ohio October 3-6, 2009 and OHSLA will be the co-sponsoring organization.   This is a wonderful opportunity for all Ohio health science librarians to participate.  All of the committee chairs for the annual meeting have been finalized.  Please consider volunteering for a committee, as the event draws nearer the chairs will need the help of OHSLA members to make the meeting a success.  Watch the OHSLA listserv for more information and details.   

OHSLA consistently offers excellent networking and educational opportunities through the Fall and Spring meetings, the electronic newsletter, and the listserv.  The Executive Committee continually looks for new opportunities to serve and represent OHSLA members.   I welcome any questions, comments, and suggestions.  Please feel free to contact me at mkraft@cchseast.org.
